But company culture is more than just adding a bit of fun to the workplace. The truth is, culture is most significantly impacted by routine, day-in and day-out events. Ironically, it is these crucial daily interactions and events that often get overlooked in a company’s effort to mold and maintain a culture.
Starting meetings on time is an unwritten rule/expectation that most companies have. If you book a meeting in a conference room at 2:00 p.m., the general understanding is that the meeting will start at 2:00. However, if a company is not careful, acceptance of tardiness can develop over time. Soon late starts are simply “the way things go around here” and have negatively impacted the company’s culture.
This small shift results in a domino effect of mismanaged meeting schedules, a general sense of inconsequential actions, and a disconnect between expectation and reality.

A company can remotely enable the check-in feature across room displays, which will automatically cancel a meeting in the system if an on-screen check-in doesn’t take place within a set amount of time – say, 5 minutes – of the meeting’s scheduled start time.

To avoid dealing with the issue, meeting schedulers and participants will feel a more pressing need to show up on time, and the company will begin seeing more punctual start times across the board.
